BREAST CANCER

Breast cancer is a disease commonly found in women but also found in men in rare cases. There are over 212,000 cases of breast cancer diagnosed in the USA each year. In Canada the figure is 20,500, in the UK the figure is 41,000.
The chances can be increased by:
Age
Contraceptive pill
Obesity
Heavy drinking
Hereditary
There are two main places in the breast where cancer can occur: the lobules (the milk-producing tissue) and the ducts (which carry the milk to the nipple।
Symptoms
Change in the size or shape of a breast
The nipple becoming inverted
Feel the breasts for any lumps।
Dimpling of the breast skin
It is important To detect breast cancer at an early stage because at this stage, it is easy to remove the lumps but at a later stage tissue around it might have to be removed for the safety of the patient.
PREVENTION
1. Eat your fruits and veggies
2. Limit your alcohol intake
3. Watch the meats you eat, especially smoked or cured foods.
4. Avoid smoking, whether it be actual smoking or secondhand smoke
5. Practice safe sex
6. Know your personal and family history of cancer.
7. Know what chemicals you are being exposed to in your work environment.
8. Have regular screening test
9. Exercise for cancer prevention.
